In this time of loud voices screaming at us, masked men on our streets, TVs blaring in every background, so many on the internet and social media spewing messages of hatred and division, how do we live as “one nation under God with liberty and justice for all?” How do we know who we really are and what we truly value?

We CAN break through. We start by creating silence: turn off our phones, computers, radios, TVs, and playlists. Create silence so that we can think.

Take up your pen and paper. Writing is our SUPERPOWER. It connects deeply with our true being. It actually activates and connects more of our brain cells than typing does.

Write to yourself. No one will ever see this unless you choose to share. DO NOT FUSS AT YOURSELF about spelling, grammar, or how you say things, This is your conversation with yourself. Together we Americans CAN re-build the country we want and deserve. We need to stop digging holes of division and hatred, decide who we are and where we want to go, and find the road that will take us there.
